I do understand the differences in BDSM. But it's my understanding that even if you are experiencing pain in BDSM, you are doing it because you like it and it does give you a form of pleasure. It just seemed that this person was advocating a complete lack of any form of enjoyment for the bottom participants which to my mind is not safe sensual BDSM but torture.

I would have to agree. BDSM is about loyalty, and complete trust. Trusting the other person that they are going to be able to get into your head and know exactly what makes you tick. People that are truly into bondage/bdsm enjoy the power play, the mind games, and the intensity in the foreplay. There is so much to go into, it could never be summed up in a forum post. There are so many aspects, fetishes, and differences even with in the community. It's the CONSENSUAL bondage that is the enjoyment with both parties.

Slippery slope. As a longtime BDSM player, some slaves and subs get great satisfaction from simply serving the desires and pleasures of the Dominant. They don't NEED to feel pleasure from the act, because their Dominant is the one who feels the need to see them in whatever act you are talking about. Fulfilling the Dominants needs gives some serious slaves all the fulfillment and enjoyment they need.
