Are any top spots worth $1,750.00?

But is breaking even enough? I think one should make profit too with that much money.. but it's just me.

I may be wrong but I think the prices of many tgp spots are driven by demand. There is such high demand for the traffic that they can get away charging high prices. What effect it might have is getting more paysites to start buying the spots because it makes more sense than an affiliate because they get full commission. However running many tgp spot campaigns is very time consuming. Affiliates will always be around but it kinda gets rid of the need for affiliates in this situation because you just buy the traffic and get the full commission. We buy tons of spots each month however I prefer affiliates who send sales.
