Gratiot -- what a great road for racing.

Is that still the strip out there?

I remember doing work for Crown Petroleum, they had a store on Gratiot and something else -- near the bottom of that run. They put in the 30000 gallon tanks, largest ever manufactured at the time, and the manufacturer didn't even have the stick charts, so, they had no idea if the tank was leaking, etc.

But, Friday night, guys lined up to get the cheap gas - Crown made sure on Friday's they were 2 cents less than the other stations for Premium. The guys would run up Gratiot, race back, and then fill up with regular on their way out. And Saturday the 80k gallon truck would pull up and refill the tanks.
