Everything has a purpose... Cockroaches are strong. They were here before us, and they'll be here long after us.

As far as figuing out what purpose things serve in nature, what about humans? I have done nothing in my life outside of planting a few trees here and there to "better serve nature". WE are useless in our environment. We contribute nothing to the eco system. We are the top of our urban food chain but among the bottom of the natural food chain.

In the water we'd be eaten by sharks. In the wilderness most of us would die. In our concrete jungles we survive on fast food and processed meats. We are the weak.
