Once again, let me point this out:

THIS VIRUS REQUIRES THAT YOU OPEN AN ATTATCHMENT!

Do yourself a favor. Open a hotmail account. When someone wants to send you an attachment, have them send it to hotmail.

Set your current regular mail to automatically delete all mail with attachments (not just move to the delete pile, but actually permanently delete right away). All of a sudden, your email is almost safe again.

Also, if your using microsoft mail products, disable the preview pane. Only open email that you know the source.

In a prior life I was the webmaster/technology chair (ha!) for a small town's chamber of commerce site. The leadership really hated it when they'd ask if I received the pics and docs for updates and I'd tell them 'No, I don't receive attachments'. They disliked it even more when I told them that I only accept attachments from computer literate people. Oh well.
