Actually, the full quote reads:
You are hereby noticed that due to the stringent requirements of the new regulations going into effect on June 23rd, anyone who is not a “Gold Affiliate” and is promoting our sites that contain our explicit content will have their account closed.
The way this is written, they're not talking about "promoting with free content", they're talking about "promoting sites that contain explicit content." (which would be all of them). Probably just VERY poorly worded, so I sent an email to Danielle to see what the deal is.
Cancelling accounts on people who don't use any of their content because they're not "Gold" affiliates just seems like horribly poor business to me, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until I hear back.
If they meant what I think they did instead of what they put in the newsletter, they're just doing the same thing everyone with sense is doing...no sweat. If they meant exactly what they put in the newsletter, I'm with plateman
