Earning Potentials

Yes, this is one of those taboo-type questions, but from my observations thus far, income potential in this industry is either a subject of extreme hype, or it's held to major secrecy.

In the non-adult side of affiliate marketing, it's well-documented that some earn monthly incomes ranging from a couple hundred dollars a month, to $20,000 and higher.

Surely there must be a rough idea about the earning potential in the various adult biz ops.

For example, providing that a webmaster has got all of his ducks in a row, and perhaps a little bit of luck as well, what's the earning potential of the following:

1. Gallery submitter

2. Link list or TGP owner

3. Pay site review site

4. Solo amateur site owner

5. Content provider

6. Major Pay site owner


I mainly mention this since there are so many new and aspiring adult webmasters reading this forum everyday, and like any means of employment, it's always important to know where this will all lead.

5. limited... one of the part of the business where expenses can be a major drag on the bottom line.

The asterix for all of these isn't that any one is better or worse than the other, it is that some are more expense driver over others. Content is a tough business, unless you are exactly what people want, you end up in the $99 bin pretty fast, and after you pay your models, there isn't a ton of money left over.

In the end, each of these jobs is dependant on your ability to attract and retain surfers, and you ability to sell them something (talking to the small head rather than the big one, the small one is usually physically closer to the wallet anyway). Any of those types of approached will work, give enough time, effort, and desire.

None of them are without risk anymore, however. In all likelyhood, you cna put up a bunch of sites and make NO MONEY AT ALL. Without a decent sales pitch, traffic sources, and filtering, you will be spending more than you make.

I think the Adult Biz is one of harder ones going today. It really takes a lot of learning now to create a decent income. You cannot simply throw up banners and watch the sales roll in.

I've made galleries that made 20 sales so I make something similar and I get 1 sale. This business has become one for those hard workers who are willing to put in the time.

That said, as Alex said the potential is unlimited. Like anything if you work hard at it and learn the ins and outs of the biz then you can make good money. Just be willing to go through a longer learning curve than what you more than likely have heard. Those days of getting in and making $10K their second month are gone (or at least very few do now).

Money? Sure there are independant webmasters that own high traffic sites and make over $20K month no problem. Many however make $2-$4K I'd bet.

The adult side is the same as the non-adult side - the numbers you use for the non adult side are low for the better affiliates

As Ramster said - its all in how much you are willing to put into it that determines how much you will get out - and how much you try to learn and do - rather than imitate others - You can imitate success all day but in the end you'll just get imitation money as a reward
