I remember this clearly.
I was just a kid, and was living in NYC - the whole town shut down. Of course it affected the whole world, but NYC was the center of my universe and I was amazed at how visibly my mom was shaken as well as everyone else. Beatles songs and John Lennon songs were a staple of my childhood. A sad day indeed!
