Paysite with non exclusive content

Assuming I hit a non saturated niche, have a fair amount of good quality (but non exclusive) content, good design, etc..etc..

Would it work, or are there just to many sites out there?

Yes, I know this is a very general question..

Just my opinion, putting my surfer hat on for a moment. Even in an unsaturated niche I think it would be difficult without at least some exclusive content to give me a reason to join your site instead of the comptetion. It would also be a big factor in rebills.

It depends on the age, price and the actual content.

If it's old and cheap content in a narrow niche assume the surfer has ssen it.

If it's new, well priced and the shooter knows the niche assume the surfer has not seen it.

The truth is there are good shooters willing to shoot sets with videos for the price of 5 to 10 sales. Solo girl set/video $300 to $400, on a content store the price is $40 to $60

Content does not get saturated at this level.

What Paul said.

You can do a paysite with non exclusive content for sure. Pic and choose what you put up. For example, some content is $10 for a set, some is $80. The $80 stuff may not be out there much at all.

I posted this on another site, forgive me GGJ. But I think it's relevant here.

Been looking at a lot of sites recently for our new review site, the launch has been delayed due to us installing a new server and main frame but it's coming soon.

One of the things that really struck me was the difference in quality of some sites. Quality of the porn, product and site.

Some were awesome and surfing them was a delight. good quality product, people who clearly understood how to use a camera, knew about the porn they were shooting and could design/layout/program a site. I got the feeling that if I was a member I could spend a long time there. Unfortunately there was few of them so far.

The vast majority are simply not delivering the product, bad product, poor porn and a site that needs an instruction manual to get around. It's small wonder they don't retain.

IMO if you want to keep a surfer the best way is to deliver a product that's better than the opposition.
The thing to make your site different from the others is the QUALITY of the porn.

Great point. There are some good sites out there using both non-exclusive and exclusive content and the difference is they offer high bitrate videos or crisp, high res pictures, and a big enough members area with enough variety to keep their members satisfied.

Some people go on and on as if exclusive is the key to getting content right. Then they publish badly shot and over compressed crap. As if the surfers gives a toss that it's not on any other sites.

He only cares if it gets his dick hard.

I have 2 niche fetish AVS sites. The content is hard to find for both of them. None of it is exclusive. They do ok, I keep trying to push more traffic to them. I've had one up for 3 months, and have members who have been there since the beginning.

But they are small niche fetish sites. One I don't know of a single pay site in that niche. The other, I only know of one, so it isn't like I have a lot of competition with paysites.

Eventually, I'd like to convert them to paysites and get exclusive content shot for it, in addition to the bought content I have.

Narrow your niche. If you could find something like I did that, ok maybe the content HAS been seen before, but it hasn't been massed and grouped where all of it is in the same fetish, that could work.

And I agree with Paul, keep the navigation simple and easy to find what they are looking for!

This illustrates the major problem of going for a narrow niche. You simply can't build the membership to a level where you can fund shooting more content.

I don't know what RedCherry's niche is so will talk generally about the niche market.

We get approached all the time to shoot niche content either exclusive or non exclusive and most of the time we turn it down. For non exclusive it's simple, I'm using "Unshaven" as an example to most niches. An unshaven girl scene will sell half as much as a shaven girl. So we make more money getting her to shave her bush.

If we approach the guys with "Hairy girl" sites they offer stupid money, like ATK who offered $150 a set. And they all blame the same thing, the site can't afford to pay more. Yet they all complain about not having enough new content. Catch 22.
