JFK, great pictures as always but, you are only kidding when you say, "The guys at INTERNEXT pulled out all stops to make this show a success and I think it worked", right?
And Fonz, I think I deleted all of the morons posts above you except this one. Let me know if I missed any ![]() |

There always seems to be good business done at the shows until you get home and nothing really comes to fruition. What is it that Bush always says? "We have to see how history shows this". A show like Internext has to be measured by the attendance. Really, nothing else counts for the people that chose to sponsor these events. If the attendance isn't there, there has been no turn around. |

Wall to wall people huge booths etc, you know what I mean because you have been there. Now was there any more business done then, then there is now? Don't forget to factor in the oversaturation of the current market as opposed to years of Yore. The "official" figures put attendance well over the 1k mark, to me that is not too shabby. I know its not the mega#'s of years past, but as I had mentioned quality over quantity. The turn around you had mentioned will not happen overnite(one show)but will take several to achieve.I think you may see them getting away from the booth concept, to a more networking friendly show such as Phoenix, or the new Xbiz. I feel they had realised their past sins and are trying very hard to atone for them. You mention "There always seems to be good business done at the shows until you get home and nothing really comes to fruition." Well I think its like that at any trade show wether its adult or mainstream, its the follow ups and getting down to the brass tacks that count. You had made an introduction at the show , now go and close the deal. I dont like to brag about the #'s we do, but I did pick up several new accounts because of being there, and a number of maybee's as well.I am happy with the results. As far as If I was King, I would have a bit from the Phoenix Forum, take the corridor cruising from Cybernet Expo, The Cabanas from Xbiz and AVN,Take it to a place in season, as opposed to off season. Make it affordable so the starting newbie can afford to come. Don't forget you cant please all of the people all of the time. ![]() I think you will see a shakeout of the shows in the coming year. There are too many of them right now,how can the average webmaster attend them all and how can the sponsors and exhibitors recoup their investment? that's my 2 cents(cdn) worth , have a great day J |
