How many niches are you working with?

It's hard to tell which has been the best niche as there seems to be waves of popularity that I can't quite work out.
Of course the amounts of traffic sent to each niche and the variety of sites promoted means it's tricky to pin down the "best", if there is one.
Hairy was great for me for a while, then BBW looked better. Mature has been quite solid, and voyeurism is looking promising. It's a long long learning curve!

Yeah, in addition to force myself to create recips for each niche, my main reason to try one of each is to get an idea of what sells for me.. although I probably need many, many
more sites, using different sponsors, to be able to conclude which niche is working well... so I believe that it's a pretty long learning curve.
I don't get why there would be waves of popularity in this though, but I've read that before too..
Don't people just like what they like.... how can it be a "popularity" issue. Makes no sense to me

In my opinion you should focus more on one niche for a few weeks or months then try the next niche. Depending on where and how you are promoting these niches your traffic may have no interest in all these niches and you may never make money from them. Try focusing and finding out which niches work best for your traffic and enjoy the rewards.

Seems like that method would be very effective in determining whether a certain niche is working or not..
And perhaps, by quickly building a large number of niche specific sites, more traffic could be funneled to
a hub containing a greater number of free sites targeting their particular interest... thereby increasing the possibility for a sale..

I promote teen, smoking and cumshot because my traffic sources will convert this niche...
took me a while to create these submit lists and its something I am always working on, adding and removing sites.

How do you find out what your traffic will work for though?
I'm submitting my sites to as many LLs as possible and probably to pretty much the same places as every other FS builder,
so aren't we all getting virtually the "same" kind of traffic?
And if so, is it the traffic, or ones ability to sell a certain niche that will make the difference?

In the beginning I wondered the same.
Someone told me years ago that at first do the niche you like the best.
At least while you are learning you are looking at stuff you like

Although, that could be too distracting, and then probably LESS work will get done

If its babe or teen, for instance, you have a few categories to choose from at most LL's. There would be hair colors, breast size and clothing. This way you are still concentrating yet not submitting to the same cat every day. In there you may find something that clicks. Do not worry if your sponsor is not a dedicated lingerie site for instance. If many of the sponsor models wear lingerie before they get nekkid and so on, it will still be a fit and can still be sold. You can also drop a lingerie sponsor on that site as a cross sell. Somewhere within it all you will find something that sticks, at least for the moment.

So far I've been adding ads for niches that seem to be different yet related to the main sponsor I'm pushing for any given site.
So, if I have lingerie content, my main sponsor site would be a a lingerie specific site. In addition, maybe I'll add one add for a "Uniforms" site, and one for a "Porn Stars" site on the index and/or main page.
But are you saying that, in this scenario, you'd even promote a non lingerie [b]specific[b] sponsor site, say a brunette site, with content that's got a brunette in lingerie and submit it to the lingerie category of the LLs?

I'm a niche hopper

I go from one to another like a hummingbird flitting around a field of flowers hehe.

Actually, I try one and see what happens then try another, then maybe go back to the first one...it really depends on my mood & the pics I have. Probably not the best way of doing it, but I just can't seem to settle down. If one works for a while, I stick with it then when it tanks I try another. I do stick to things I either like, or can relate to. Unfortunately, that doesn't narrow it down much

but I do have a great database of recips!

Sounds kinda what I've been thinking of doing once I've tested every (within reason of course) niche at least once..
But now I'm thinking of focusing on a single one, or just a few, instead... hmmm...
Maybe making 10 sites of a single niche and if it's working, another 10 and so on... and the do the same with some other niche.

I'm seriously sick of making recips , and it would sure be nice to not spend as much time on that for now.

BTW, are Link lists in general ok with getting the same niche site submitted every day, or might the risk for blacklisting get greater?

Maybe not blacklisted, but don't plan on getting them all accepted. 1 per week generally works for me.
If you pick 7 niches, 1 site per week per niche you should be fine. Provided of course your sites have different layouts etc....

Yes I am. Some may not agree or think its a waste, but as dareutwo stated, "this is a pet peeve of mine" with subbing to the same category day in and day out.

It gives you a chance to try a different cat with what you like. Remember, if you like it then it makes it easier for you to sell it. So if you use different categories that your content fits you can still promote that brunette site, or what you like. Who says that the person looking in the lingerie category "just" wants to see that. They could be there cause some sexy outfits just tickled their fancy today. But just in case you give a link to a lingerie site this way you are covered. Just remember to drop in lingerie text in with promoting the brunette site like, Beautiful brunettes wearing the sexiest of naughty nighties blah blah blah.

I dunno... but I've noticed some niches sell better on Sunday night, other's sell better mid-day during the week. My guess is, different folks with different strokes get on at different times, so why not be an equal opportunity slinger of sexy?

Not necessarily. Each LL is stronger with some categories and weaker in others. Wether it's the traffic or the selling ability, it's still up to you, the marketer, to put together the complete package.

Just make them once, keep them in your own database, and you won't have to worry about it again.

Not really. You'll get much better results if you spread the love.
