Acceptable percentage of 404s

If youre having connectivity issues that would be more in the range of 500 errors - and yes - if you are getting those you need different hosting
The 404s are normal although you could probably look at your stats and see what pages they were trying to GET - there are scripts that run in the wild looking for all types of pages on sites - if youre only getting 3% thats pretty good

So true, my stats, depending on domain, show 3-15% of all request are 404s but when I check details 99% are some weird script attempts.

As Linkster said if your site/gallery was 404 most likely you would get ignored or banned off the bat (especialy if it was gallery) rather then rejected for conection issues.
