Why don't you create an email on your host - e.g: linklists@yourhost.com and forward it to your gmail email address. So when you submit a page on LL use this email and webmasters will add your site but still you will get emails in gmail inbox I hope you understand what I mean

That's a very easy and seamless fix for the mail issue

As to category recips, been that way for a long time now. With a bit of organization, not all that difficult to keep up with either, since the vast majority of link sites have no problems with well crafted custom recips. Some like myself, actually prefer custom recips...providing the anchors remain intact.

There was a time I was submitting 3 sites/day across 3 niches...wasn't all that horrible to keep up with recip changes, because anchors in recips only change rarely.

Frankly, those are pretty 'soft' complaints in the big scheme of things. Yes, the learning curve in the beginning can be a bit arduous. But once learned, it's not tough at all to build free sites that are accepted nearly anywhere
