Are some linklistowners leaching?

Some linklistowners dont send out rejectionmails. I wonder why. Its not really hard technically so this can not be the reason.
The only reason I can think is is that they want to leach of the traffic from other linklistowners that do list the freesite.
Or am I missing something here?

Making that sort of accusation here is a bit silly..

and unless you have run a Linklist you cant really understand the reasons behind what we do.

It is simple..

1. Rejection emails attract return emails that either contain threats and abuse from the "rejected" webmaster.

2. Most major LL's update daily so you can tell immediately wether you got listed.

3. Most of the major LL owners post here and happily respond to questions as to why a sites was declined. This means(usually) we dont have to go repeating ourselves over and over again.. as when we answer.. multiple webmasters get the answer.

Dave I felt like I had to put it this way. And I have to say...I am not saying it is like this (mind the questionmark) but I could not really think of another explanation. I dont like this idea though so that is why I put it on the board. I would like to believe there is another reason.

1. If a submitter makes a thread...good...blacklist his ass. One less submitter you have to deal with.

2. Penisbot and Richards Realm take like a month sometime. Hoes and greenguy take about a week. The only really fast ones in my eyes are Jay and Cleo. They take a day...(cleo sometimes an hour). I would not know about you. You never listed me...Even with some really good ones in my eyes.

3. A reason in the rejectionemail would save a trip to this board. There is somebody reviewing and declining for a reason. Why not send a small reason (make a choicelist) and tell them to come to the board for more info?

I send out reasons and I can tell you I get responses back from webamsters which is fine with me.

Before this board was started I saw Greenguy, DangerDave and Tommy all post elsewhere that they do not send them out anymore because they were getting too many email responses back asking why, or complaining that the site should have been listed or just plain people threating to hack their server.

Also, Greenguy lists every site the next day. Richard's is very long but most are fairly fast and the traffic from recips links to the link list is a total joke.

Happy to hear that you send rejections Ramster.

If it was not for Cleo sending out rejections and mentioning about the existence of this board I would have never known this board existed...

She sends out general reasons along with them and if I dont get it... I can come to this board.
Sounds like a perfect system to me.

Pornopat - The reason I don't send out rejection email is because a lot of times (even people taht are autosubitting) get all etsy when they get them.

The only time I do send a rejection email is when I think there has been and honest mistake.

If anyone emails me with questions I always respond.

First off sending rejection emails can open doors to long lasting debates

And as far as getting listed at LOR the admin is updated every day so your wait shouldnt be longer than 36 hrs at most

I am a newbie. I cannot comment much on this.
But IMHO, the linklist owners are right. A recip on your site is not going to leach traffic. The click throughs from recips are very less, especially if it is a regular surfer, he knows what is it.
The only benefit I feel the LinkList owner may get is the link popularity especially with new google algorithm.(But again that may not be the intention the linklist owners. It just happens that way)
So I would say GG, DD, Jay & all those big bros can make us follow thier rules, atleast they are giving us traffic in exchange for our content.

But when a LinkList owner who can't even send 10 hits a day does the same sort of things and put strict rules and act like he is a big name in this game, then its annoying. |pissed|

What I am hearing here is mostly that linklistowners dont want the reactions of the turned down webmaster.

i am thinking of to quit myself with sending rejection emails , why........i send them with the reason and they keep submittng sites with the same mistakes, i have even one guy i send 5 times a rejection email with the reason and he keeps submitting the wrong way..........rejection email dont get read in my eyes....so its hopeless..........

If a person keeps maqking the same mistake while you pointed it out....blacklist the person. (imho)

yes i can blacklist him, but then that i find to extreme, i only asked if he wanted to fill in the right title wich is on his warning page on the form, and i have more people who dont read the email, but to blacklist them all................well hell it is an idea.lol

PPat no one every waits longer than 24 hours post submission to be listed here. and that has been the case essentially since I started.

Do not confuse "speed of listing" with efficiency! There are things called time zones!, and when most people submit to me.. I am asleep.. and guess what.. I aint getting up to do submissions!

Have you ever asked me why you didnt get listed?
I have declined 1000's of sites that "the owning webmaster" thought were GOOD, and I am not alone there.

PPat it is just not feasible for a time management point of view.

... and we are here every day helping webmasters get their sites listed and ready for listing.. I am not going to add another 3 hours to my working day to tell webmasters things that they should already know.

I complained about people not sending out rejection emails.

It had nothing to do with the rules you state but mostly with the quality of pics. Ok..cool...Now I can work on that. I made another one with even better quality pics and submitted it like 2 hours ago.

As far as getting the reviews done. I was knocking my queue down to zero submissions every day. If I miss a day or two of reviewing - I can get a little backed up, but never over 3 days I would say.

I know my LL isn´t big yet but it is growing by the day and I do believe that I do send more than 10 hits a day... BUT
If smaller LL´s want to be a part of the game, the only thing to do is make about the same steps as the bigger ones. Nichespecifik recips are just one of the actions that are the way for more SE traffic. I have added these and I see an increase in traffic from Google to my categories. Don´t be annoyed by the smaller ones trying to get into the big league...This will also end up giving you more of the great SE traffic

I wasn't mentioning about you. I think, I never submitted any sites to you far. I had tried to follw the strct rules as far as possible and got listed almost everywhere. But what I see only some of the big bro can send real traffic (we all know who they are).

And as far growing yourself to a big LikList guy is concerned, I would say every webmaster would love to grow. I also want to become like GG or DD. But making rules which are not webmaster friendly is not the anser for that. The smaller limklist guys should also understand that we poor masters put our efforts, spend our hard earned money to make some blig to get going. So in return we expect some traffic. I would say, the smaller guys should try to find a balance between being webmaster friendly as well as surfer friendly. And once they are as big as GG or DD, well you make the rules, the others will follow you.
Anyway its just my humble opinion. Its your website, you are always free to make your own rules. I would love to get listed everywhere.
But my index page doesn't have enough space to put all your recips

So I put the recips of guys who send me traffic and to smaller guys who accept doorway pages.

It's not a shared list you have, just your site. I have had to do the same thing mainly with my TGP for that same reason. People who submit the exact same terrible sponsor created template (nastydollars one) every single day and after more than a week I blacklisted everything the guy owns.

I don't have time to click the link and look at a gallery that is not making any effort whatsoever to follow my rules. I review over 100 galleries a day just for BabeRankings so time is money.

Yeah. its okay. It will save you the time of rejecting him. And since he never answers it might just be a fake email.

I have had my site up for a month now. I submit to many of the small link lists not for traffic but just for a link to my site for pr. it seems to be working this morning when i looked at my site i had pr for the first time sure its only 2 but now i should be able to get people to trade links. So submitting to small LL's does help you even if they only send 10 hits
