After reviewing my stats I wonder why I even bother putting sponsor links on my galleries ;-)

No "enters" on the index page has been the rule for a long time.

But are you guys seriously saying you want to expand the rule to no enters anywhere in the site?

That's just fuckin nuts.

Fortunately, I seriously doubt you'll get the big guys to go along with this. Except maybe hoes.

It was my understanding that that was the general policy already. I've never used Enter on my sponsor links and, believe it or not, I still make sales. And I'm not saying there should be some sort complete ban of the word. It's the "Enter Here for blah blah..." that I'm most concerned about. If submitters want to use "Enter Here for Brooke Skye" in a link out, how is that to be differentiated from "Enter Here for Free Site Title"?

Well, the difference is, it's already inside the freesite, so the surfer has already "Entered", and the linklists listing the site have already had an entirely fair chance to get a click on their recips.

Inside the free site, an "enter" then means to enter the sponsors tour and take a look at the sponsors offerings.

I myself don't use 'enter' in any of my sales texts - but after the index page, banners with "enter" on them are completely legitimate, because they aren't deceptive and don't mess with the linklists traffic, as some linklist owners have asserted they do on the index page.

And if I wanted to say "Enter" in my sales text after the index page, it's still my position that it's not deceptive, and doesn't interfere with the linklists interests, because the surfer has already clicked on the "Enter" link on the index, and knows he is inside the freesite.

I find it very difficult, if possible at all, to argue with your logic. My strict tendencies towards the use of "Enter" may stem from a very brief stint in gallery submissions, where the rules and rhetoric are much more stringent. One of the reasons I stopped submitting galleries and began submitting free sites was due to the fact that link list rules seemed much more webmaster friendly.

So it really isn't my intention to create a more difficult working atmosphere for honest webmasters, but rather an attempt at clarification and sensing what others feel about the use of "Enter".

I mostly agree with Bill, though "Enter For More Free Shit" anywhere would be deceptive text and blind. Enter on a banner would be ok, because it's a banner and every surfer knows it's going somewhere else. Text saying "Enter Here To See All Of Model X" would be fine with me anywhere but on the index page.
But I'm a slacker in a lot of ways
