I wouldn't worry too much about PR right off the bat. I could care less about a link lists PR if it's sending me a decent amount of traffic

Using your own traffic is a very good thing to get the ball rolling. Personally, I've never bought traffic to push the start of a link list or TGP (thinking it might be a waste to buy traffic that you'd just send out to people for free) but it might be a good idea to get a fan base going

Do you have your own free sites where you could fill up the category pages & make the site look full & attractive to a surfer once you get it open?
