I have not done a freesite in more than in a year but when I did:

- I got 1 or 2 sales during the initial period when it was listed by link lists
- I then would get a sale or two a number of weeks or months later when the search engines found them.

I made pretty lame freesites. Also, it depends on the niche and your ability to sell. Don't forget that this entire process is organic. Build hundreds of freesites, start a hub, get hard link trades. All this together is bigger than the sum its parts. Looking at the income power of just a few sites is not a real comparison.
