Sometimes it's just luck. If it's consistent over a long term, it is most likely the text in the ads.

or possibly the sources of traffic for one mgp is more targeted than the other...

...running narrow niche TGP's, I take a close look at who else a site is trading with before I approve/request a trade

Or maybe someone's buying shit traffic to trade with that will never convert and that blows conversion ratios to crap...

It's really hard to tell and from what I can see, epoch's admin isn't really helpful in determining where people are sending traffic from.
