I'm a big fan of Sony & if I was going to get a new HDTV they'd be the 1st brand I looked at.

I think Sony has lost a lot of its edge recently, I always used to reccomend Sony electronics but I have noticed a decline in quality over price in the last few years. there are a lot of companies out there now putting out high quality electronics (LCD screens included) for much better prices for equal if not better quality. I woud go to newegg.com and check out the reviews.

I kind of feel the same way. I used to only buy Sonys until last year when I bought my son a Samsung. It does have a better picture than my Sony. But, it being a dlp has to have something to do with that.

I have a 52" JVC DLP TV that I absolutely love the picture quality on. I thought it had a better picture than the Plasma and LCDs that I looked at, and it was almost half the price!

i always liked the toshiba, and I sure am not gonna upgrade to a 1080p unit just yet, I payed 3,100 for my 65" - i could kick myself in the ass for not waiting till they came down and got smaller, then they went to LCD smaller yet hehe

I heard a lot say there is not much difference in 1080i and 1080p picture wise...

all in all I do have a rocking ass home theater, sony surround reciever with a polk sub and the biggest MTX loud speakers for the front they made then, and the sat speakers to finish off the 5.1 surround system

I always was a sony man myself but am not crazy about there stuff anymore...

I remember jim when looking at the rear projection hdtv's then and the DLP's had the nicer picture then but price drove me away
