I would think that an email that says "your site has been rejected" gives you the OK to remove their link, even in Penisnbot's case (I had the same issue). I am glad I did not remove their recip, but had I done so, would I really be in the wrong given that I had written documentation that they were not listing my site?

Now I feel like an ass. (Yes, I know - I should always feel like an ass.) I checked my stats and I have been getting traffic to that site from PB, so you are most definitely correct. Phew. I only do a few free sites sporadically over a year and it breaks my heart to get rejected. It's really rough on the ego to get your own stuff rejected when you've been reviewing for a few years.
