Happy Groundhog Day

I spent about 4 hours making candles last night - I think my grand total was 8 candles & one clump of leaked out wax from a candle that decided to piss itself out onto my counter.

Today I've got to put the final touches on The Pool House for tomorrow's big Super Bowl Party (and for those of you that were here last year & thought I was pissed at you for some strange reason, no one from out-of-town was invited this year - you are loved)

While I am getting a bit "earthy" these days, the main reason is that these fucking candle The Bitch buys are $25 each - so I scoop out the remaining wax once the wick burns down, melt everything & make new candles.

But I did get a candle making kit for my birthday - all soy - so I made some from scratch last night as well

I have a sick grandson. He came and crawled in bed with me this morning and is still in there sleeping. I hate when he is sick it breaks my heart.

I don't have a favorite in the game tomorrow, I just hope it's a close game down to the wire. I would like to see the Pats stay undefeated though.

Not much today.. except 2 trade shows so I'm out of here in an hour or so to make sure my minions are up and running.

I placed my grocery order online to be delivered tomorrow just in time for the game.

I think this afternoon the RugDawg and I are doing a Die Hard marathon starting with the original.

Have a happy non-Shadow day (tho i heard that the one in PA did see his shadow--boo hiss)

If you used quality self consuming soy candles you wouldn't have that problem. You get an even burn and they liquefy so that you get a full use of the candle to the bottom.

Tomorrow is the big day, the Joe Cain parade here in Mobile and I think I have everything together. Beads, stuffed animals and several cases of Moon Pies to throw to the crowds. I'll try and get some pics up of the drunken revelry...

I bought a cute thing last year that is a small lamp with a stand. You place the candle (i use ones that are in jars and pretty pricey) on the stand and turn on the lamp. It melts the wax so you get the scent in the room, but doesn't burn the wick. Turn the lamp off, candle reforms. You can use the same candle over and over, and don't have to worry about burning curious cats.

So are the soy candles smokeless like they say they are? I think it is cool you are making them. I haven't made candles in years.

Morning all. Woke up with sore throat and crick in my upper back. Have a tens unit on and the pain is about gone. Love those things. I don't want to be sick again, just went thorugh all that right before internext. So work today and lots of vitamin C.
