I think I'm burned out, took 7 years but this job is becoming one big pain in the ass.
When Greenie posts about candle making or Red Cherry posts about working on her green house I think "I want to do that"

Morning..

getting ready to hit the road -- not pounding with my fist but a well worn set of Michelines. Spring break starts next week and I'm trying to decide whether to rent a car and just drive and stop or sit my arse at home for the week.

Stayed up to see the new "Family Jewels" .. Gawd help me but I think Nick is HOT. and really I have great giggles at the expense of Gene Simmons especially spending all that money to track down his dog.

Schedule yourself just like a regular job. 8 hours per day. take coffee and lunch breaks. It really helps to get back and focused. Then pick a day or 2 and take "off" .. I used to work from 4am till 8 or 9pm every day. and just couldn't do it anymore. Now i find I'm much more productive when i actually make the commitment to 'get outside myself' and actually do something even if it is taking off 3 hours for a movie break.

Have a GREAT huMp day.. and make many non-prostitutional dollars.

Morning All.

TPat, you can always drive over and help us finish skinning the greenhouse. We are keeping fingers crossed that today and tomorrow the winds will be dead so we can do it. My plants on my windowsill I started are begging for replanting.

I hear you on burnout. I went to visit a non-adult client yesterday, and he said he couldn't understand work a holics. That he had talked to someone who hadn't taken a vacation in 7 years. I told him, other than one or 2 days, we haven't...we just can't take a week off being self employed. I do miss that about a regular job.

But I don't miss getting dressed, commuting to work, then working with assholes all day, high stress, and being sick from stress.

DocHolly and the rest are right, sometimes you have to take a full day off. We do that maybe once every 6 weeks or so....it does help recharge the batteries.

And when you can't do that, take a few hours off. We go in the afternoon and pick weeds for an hour. Gets us moving, makes our front yard look better, and makes me appreciate getting back inside and working on porn, lol.

OMG I want your back yard! I love living in the desert, but hate the fact my backyard is all rocks and weeds right now except for the greenhouse. I miss grass and trees....

The yard is tiny but it's nice. Laid every stone and planted every blade of grass myself.

My summer mornings typically start about 6:30 in the yard - then I either go to work or to bed (depending on my messed up schedule of the week) around 9:00. I keep saying I'll move my office to the back beadroom so I can look out at the garden instead of the tires on my dualie.

Weather is awesome here today - going to get to the high 60's - already turned the water on the front yard and have all the windows and doors WIDE open.

BTW - Colorado Springs only gets about 15" of annul perciptation and an average afternoon humidity here is at 40% - PERFECT!
