March Madness 2008

#2 Duke vs #15 Belmont

What a incredible game, Duke wins by 1 but what a incredible game.

Oh yeah, Purdue spanked Baylor Whoo Hoo!

The shame of it all was Belmont had several chances for the upset.

Yeah, that inbound pass was terrible, but they played so hard, I do not remember the last time I seen so many players falling down from being exhausted as I did in this game from both sides.

Soooooooooooooo close..........

Did any of the Buffalo/Western New York teams make it? Syracuse maybe? I only care if I can somehow attach myself to a local team

I was at that game at the Verizon Center in DC. I couldn't believe how many people hate Duke. Everytime Belmont took the lead, the place would go crazy.

Orange made it to the NIT again.

One of the local colleges here made it to the womens NCAA's Marist College in Poughkeepsie, they made it to the sweet 16 last year. But no locals for me, Im a Hoyas fan anyway.

I think most of the "hate" is towards Duke had more to do with them being the #2 seed playing a very close game with a #15 seed more then just hating Duke because they are Duke, everyone loves a underdog.

And the first upset of the year belongs to Western Kentucky drilling a 3 at the buzzer beating Drake by 2.

Very good finish, 5 vs 12 is almost always the best games of the first round.

And what the hell happen with America vs Tenn? When I left the gym Tenn was up 1 when I get home, Tenn wins by 15???

What can I say; we put up a good fight. What a great year for Matt Painter, the 4 Freshmen and 1 Sophomore starters, and the entire team. We were projected to finish no better than 7th in the Big Ten and we finish 2nd with a sweep over the Big Ten champs and got the 2nd round only to lose a hard fought game.

Fear Purdue in 2009.

I would LOVE that, I so hate the tarheels...

Davidson over GTown, amazing.

Butler almost pulled it out.

Is it me or is this the most competitive tourney ever?

Most exciting thing about this game was Roy Williams bitching about the court.

50 minutes. That's how long the CBS NCAA coverage went over yeaterday. 50 minutes.

How many people turned on their TiVo'd or DVR'd copy of Big Brother to see 5/6ths of 60 Minutes?

This is the kind of "March Madness" I'm enjoying
