I always tell family when they come to visit me to either stay at The Orleans or The Silverton because its cheaper and I don't have to drive on the strip to see them. At the same time they are close enough to the strip for easy access to the big casinos.

Red Rock Canyon is usually gorgeous that time of the year. Theres the Red Rock Resort and Casino just a few miles outside of the canyon in summerlin and it beats just about anywhere on the strip IMO.
