Greenie Tweeter and O and A

I have my Twitter profile sending to my blog, and I do see some traffic out of it.

I use it 3 ways:

1 -- to keep in touch with website members who use it themselves. Aside from my weekly camshows, I utterly refuse to schedule chats (hate chatrooms, hate, hate hate...) so it gives them the feeling that I'm accessible to them and they can stay in constant touch with me. They absolutely love it, and I believe it helps retention.

...people are really strange. FoxyAngel has a group of people that like to watch her sleep on the house cams and send her emails commenting about what she was wearing when she went to bed. Besides being kind of creepy I find that totally bizarre.

That's a great example, Cleo...it's bizarre, it's weird....I can't imagine it either, but on the other hand, it's also very lucrative, if you can create that sort of demand for yourself, and then maintain it. My site members, for example, get very, very smug about the fact that between Twitter and my spycams, they "know" my every move, lol. Getting at the real person behind the content is a real compulsion for some of them.

2 -- little announcements on updates, blog posts, upcoming spycam events, etc.

3 -- swapping "follows" with other industry folk. If you're in the business, and you're following me, I'll likely follow you back.

Although as GG says, some get awfully spammy (and I hope I'm not guilty of that myself). I have found it necessary to "weed" from time to time.

Of all the web 2.0 crap out there, I have to say, I've found Twitter to be the most useful, while still being the least pain in the ass. As I sit here typing, I know for a fact that they're watching and refreshing Twitter over and over, and going nuts wondering who the hell I'm talking to and why isn't it them, lol.
