Word of note. Busy site, getting traffic from an IP address that you don't want? Do NOT do:

It seems like it would be logical to match things that way, but, that's not the way apache's rules work. When it sees that *.* it thinks, wow, could be mean 66.55.domain.com too? That of course forces a dns lookup which slows down any pageview on that site.

Code:

deny from 66.55.

is what you want in that case.
