I'm pretty sure youtube is doing this with audio for copyrighted music right now.

thats a brilliant idea... hash video content with its audio stream... and the song recognition programming sounds allot better.

Might have to do it over a longer period of time though as the OOOH and AAAAH's might hit more than miss.
