Another porn recession article - based on Las Vegas shows

Did you read the comment by Sean Devlin? Looks like they really screwed up their facts in the article.

I am the Sean Devlin quoted in this article, and I'm sorry to tell you that the reporter really screwed up. The entire premise of the article is wrong.

Attendance at the 2010 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo was not down 10-20%. In fact, our attendance was UP.

The reporter never spoke to me, and no-one from MSN Money bothered to factcheck this. It looks like the reporter did a search and came up with some quotes and numbers from LAST YEAR's Expo.

Well, I try to convey with things like the "media pr0n" comment that none of these articles can be trusted.

The mainstream media is addicted to porn articles - they always get the facts wrong, by definition. The articles purpose is to appeal to the rubes with hints of salaciousness and money (or lack of money in this case).

However, I'm not believing that attendance is up either. All sides benefit from massaged data.

I agree with you 100%. The mainstream media always gets it wrong, but whenever I see quotes from so-called experts I like to know who is talking. There's so much "spinning" out there - you've got to consider the source.
