![]() Then I get a phonecall from my Dad. As it is one of those birthdays with a zero on the end my sister is arranging a party for me on Sunday, and my father phoned to say he was not coming. His reason was basically that he just did not want to come! Then I get home and find an email sent to me by whatever script runs this board saying there would be a "Happy Birthday" thread in this board for me. But it was a lie, no such thread. Me is gonna sulk now! ![]() Last edited by ecchi; 2014-02-27 at 04:40 AM.. Reason: Added a smilie |

Thanks Everyone. ![]() . Quote:
However my family obviously know my real age, and it is interesting how they vary in the cards they send. Some send cards with my age printed on the front in large numerals (because it is a zero ending one), others assume I probably don't want to be reminded that another decade has slipped by, so tactfully send cards that just say "happy birthday" without mentioning my age. One person sweetly sent me a card that stated my age but then said that it is the "new thirty". And then my father, the bastard, sent me one that said "Today is the day we celebrate the day you were born. Years and tears and YEARS ago! |
