I mostly wear deck shows (yacht shoes), rather than having laces they have a Velcro strap (so that, if you fall overboard, you can kick them off easily to swim back to the boat or shore). My friend's puppy has worked out that he can undo them with his teeth and then takes great pleasure in trying to tear the strap off. It is cute and funny at the moment, while he is a puppy, but when he is fully grown he will be the size of a small pony, with strength to match. He will not only be able to pull the strap off, he will most probably be able to pull my entire leg off!
