FCC planning to repeal Net Neutrality

I posted a thread about this at gfy and xbiz so I decided I would put one here too.

Nobody seems to be discussing this much and I am thinking it is a pretty major deal for the Adult Internet.

If Net Neutrality is repealed then ISPs would have be able to block Adult content if they wanted to or make a user pay more to be able to access it. I am thinking that this could drastically cut into an already dwindling sales volume.

Is there any upside of it for The Adult Internet?

Federal regulators are on track to loosen regulations of cable and telecom companies.

The Federal Communications Commission will vote Dec. 14 on a plan to undo the landmark 2015 rules that had placed Internet service providers like Comcast and Verizon under the strictest-ever regulatory oversight.

The vote is expected to repeal so-called net neutrality rules, which prevent broadband companies from slowing down or blocking any sites or apps, or otherwise deciding what content gets to users faster.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai on Tuesday said his repeal proposal would "stop micromanaging the Internet." Instead his plan would require Internet providers to disclose what exactly they're doing – for example, whether they allow some websites or apps to pay extra for faster streaming.

I think the comment period officially ended back in August for this time around.

But if the form still works might as well use it, ya know?

I don't know if it will matter or not but I guess it cannot hurt.

Definitely not good news IF it went through. I can't see it being for ANYONE accept the cable companies and maybe big pocket companies wanting to break in quickly with a service like Oliver says.

Did you see New York AG, Eric Schneiderman's open letter?

Specifically, for six months my office has been investigating who perpetrated a massive scheme to corrupt the FCC’s notice and comment process through the misuse of enormous numbers of real New Yorkers’ and other Americans’ identities...That’s akin to identity theft, and it happened on a massive scale.

I'm friends with a couple of supporters on Facebook, so I've been asking 2+ times a day how this is a good thing. So far, 2 (finally) admitted yesterday that they knew nothing about it & 1 pointed out that Obama appointed Ajit Pai Commissioner at the FCC in 2012 ( then appointed him Chairman in 2017) but NONE of them can defend it or explain why it's good.
