Talking Colts/Chargers

Damn, what a game! Charger’s dominated until the end. This game is more reason that the NFL needs to go to the college version of overtime, this sudden death crap is taking away from high drama, what could be better then watching 2 hot QB’s shooting it out from the 25 until 1 team makes a stop?

Manning will for sure win the MVP, but Brees proved he will be #2 on that list.

I would not want to face either of these teams in the playoffs…

Yes great game for sure!!

What do they do in college? In Canada the CFL has 1 possession per team. Not sure from where but each team does get a chance.

Torn, if they did that... Manning may have finishd the day with 52 td passes.

Ramster, each team gets the ball on the 25, going in the same direction. They can get first downs. If the first team scores a touchdown, the second has to score one also, or it's over. If both teams score the same thing (TD or field goal), they do a second round with the other team going first this time. After 3rd round, they HAVE to go for the 2pt coversion. (at least I think it's the 3rd round... it may be after the 2nd)

Sorry Ramster, I should have said what NCAA OT is like.

Trev is right on it, each team starts on the 25 and they have to either score, or lose the ball on downs or turnover. If the ball is fumbled/intercepted and the other team runs it back the other end zone the game is over. The start of the 3rd OT they MUST go for 2 after every TD.

They have had games end in a 14-14 tie in regulation to go to 60 + point games. Total drama and excitement, and this is where you find out who the better team is, who has the stamina and the will to win.

Not this sudden death crap where the other teams offense never touches the ball. This assures that BOTH teams get a fair chance to win the game and not the 58% of the teams who win a coin toss.

Having Brees and Manning throw it out for 1 or 2 or more drives would have been talked about for years. And that is what football is about, EXCITMENT.

oh yeah, I forgot to add that part. A rather important part to leave out.

I see good and bad in it being applied to the pros. It would be more fair to make sure both teams get the ball. But, as Tiny points out. It can really jack up the score. Which in the pros can affect the playoff tie breakers, not to mention scoring records.
