Gonzales calls for mandatory Web labeling law

Web site operators posting sexually explicit information must place official government warning labels on their pages or risk being imprisoned for up to five years, the Bush administration proposed Thursday.

Ok, I've been totally consumed with a project since last week, so not sure if this was posted already or not, but what a bunch of BS!

Not to worry, it is another selective law that will get struck down in the courts (if it ever got passed which is highly unlikely). You cannot restrict or block free speech, it is a pretty simple concept. It would only work out if ALL websites on the net were required to label ( from disney to hardcore porn). Otherwise it is a selective restriction of free speech, which usually doesn't go too far.

I couldn't see it going very far, it looked like they were just trying to make points with the conservatives.

Wow Raw Alex, that is quite a pic for your icon, lol

With an approval rating of 32, it doesn't look like that strategy has helped much. A quick glance at the news and it's obvious there are more important things to take care of.

You bring up a good point. The federal government set aside money to fight child pornography and obscenity. These 2 are grouped together so basically every dollar and every man hour that's being used to attack an adult wishing to see another adult naked is a dollar or man hour taken away from fighting child pornography.

Since Gonzales is funneling funds away from fighting cp, what does that tell you about him and the administration? Other then these are some very sick people.
