I think more clubs upgrading their "ambience" to be more welcoming to women is a great idea. I would never have been able to get the ex-wife to agree to go to a club, but I have a few non-industry friends that do so as a couple on occassion.

I do see how unescorted women could be a potential problem. It only takes one that's out hunting for an AWOL spouse/boyfriend to create a really nasty scene.
