I actually like the idea of that. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm not a mass submitter, I'd build one.

There is likely a buck or two in that idea besides its merits for submitters.
Submitters are always looking for content and sponsors, it would be a great place to advertise sponsors, content suppliers, software, etc. or an excellent addition to any webmaster resource site.

Again, I agree. In my eyes, all the traffic at link lists, whether big or small, is about the same quality. My strategy has always been to submit to the heavy hitters and my own couple of small lists. Part of me thinks the folks who submit to more than 40 (or so) lists are nuts, part of me applauds the effort. My submit list is admittedly even smaller.

You might be able to legitimately make the "extra sales" argument about small link list traffic, but to say the traffic is better - that doesn't make logical sense and it has never been a pattern in my own stats.

You could say that's because I don't submit to a lot of little linklists, but I don't submit to a lot of little linklists because I've often analyzed my sales and I've clearly seen that most sales come from a limited number of linklists.

I say it doesn't make logical sense because (1) it's more likely for the bigger linklists to have taken better positions on serch terms for SE traffic and (2) the bigger linklists get the first tastes of traded traffic, by the time traded traffic reaches the little linklists it's been sold to several times already.

The "extra sales from small LL traffic" argument holds up, the "better sales from small LL traffic" doesn't, in my experience.
From my point of view it looks quiet the same but... I've noticed that if a 1-2 years old FS sends a sale, most times it is reffered by mirror page without any huge LL recip. On the other hand I must say that in times it was allowed to submit multiple doorway pages like warning.htm, warn.htm, enter.htm etc. these pages were showing up in SE and not the main doorpage index.htm which was submited to biggest LL (I actually didn't and still don't understand why but it may have something to do with that.)

Personally I belive its really worth submitting to smaller LL but since I'm submitting all by hand I'm just to damn lazy and quit doing that long time ago

But if someone uses RoboForm or some other utility it doesnt take much to submit another 50 or 100 LL (the main problem is to keep your recip tables up to date...)

Hi Samoseks, my LL http://www.online-sex-place.com/ isn't big at the moment, but I think, that it could send more than 15 hits You can try it by yourself

Bill,

I am not saying submit to small sites only. I am saying submit to the sites that send you the most sales.

Let me add to my example.

Site A sends 10,000 hits and zero sales.
Site B sends 9,456 hits and sends 5 sales.

Site B will get my submits and site A will not.

Now in another niche, Site A may send more sales then Site B. So the reverse could happen also.

Hugs,
Danielle

Very good point Danielle. One thing missing from that equation is the ever changing serps. What works today may change tomorrow with a search engine update. I try not to over analyze. I take a handful of the bigger lists (that will list my type of sites) and mix em in with smaller lists that I found on this boards resources page and hope for the best.

Recently I seen a post from a link list owner about a certain niche (latina) and wondering if it made that many sales. The ironic part, I had just made two sales from being listed on this persons link list. You just can not predict where a sale will come from.
