I prefer the opposite. When I use HFS on fake link lists I want them to look different so that the surfer does not realise that I have dumped a pile of sponsor's sites on him/her.

Which is one of the reasons building HFS must be such a pain in the ass, because the sponsor is going to want to please the majority of his/her affiliates, and it is going to be impossible to build sites that please both people like me AND people like Wazdom.

Well, I guess using a single template and never changing the title would create a "theme".

Branding is great, but I don't know how many LL owners would list a site like the one you used as an example. How many times is a surfer going to see that index page before he figures he's seen this site before and clicks out before even getting to the main page? At least with a unique title (however much it sucks) there's some indication it's not the same one they just saw 5 times. And don't even get me started about an index page that has the warning graphic linked to the tour and the exit linked to nothing

Bad design is bad design. Sponsors are losing out on some good traffic if they don't realize that.

I will agree with you to a point. When I build a free site, I usually use the same font & color scheme that the paysite tour has, which I feel leads to an easy flow from the free site to the paysite.
