The way it usually works for me is that my PR goes down, I get ranked better for a few search terms and my bank account goes up.
I hope your higher PR doesn't affect you too badly

Dude you're going about this all wrong. When your PR goes up, you're supposed to sell hardlinks on the site. That's the real purpose of PR I thought.
