Watch out making claims like that. A bit over 20 years ago the Controller of BBC1 (one of our 5 main TV channels) decided that snow
men were a sexist idea. He demanded his graphics department produce a Christmas logo with "non gender specific snowpeople". At the time he was blasted in the press for wasting BBC money (the BBC is paid for by a public licence). Over twenty years later the "non gender specific snowpeople" are still mentioned on satire shows, and he is still being laughed at for it.
