Good morning world
![]() Glad to hear you're back to ![]() ![]() I'm typing this standing up, since I got a wild hair last night ![]() The pic below shows my first attempt. Old roll-around sit-down desk that already had a higher desktop on one side. Turned it around to make that side the front. Stacked eight thin but large format art books to raise the monitor. Six murder mysteries to raise the keyboard. One large fishing reference book under the mouse pad. MacBook Pro is second screen. Cell phone holder and place for coffee mug and tv/audio remote. Did a lot of bending and crawling to get everything hooked up last night, so it'll be a few days before I know how it feels without any residual aches and pains. So far I know there needs to be a nice padded something under my bare feet. And I do sit down for phone calls, some texts, paper note making. Wishing a good day to all. ![]() P.S. Bonus points if you spotted the bungee cord plus thin rope tie-downs to keep the monitor from being able to fall backwards.

No chiropractors, no books under monitor, don't feel like crap, staving... Getting blood sucked at 11am.
Wanted to sleep in since I can't eat this morning but our cats decided to start playing at sunrise. At least I turned it into a productive morning and created this poster that gets printed today. NEED FOOD!!! |

Good Day
![]() Behind already and I need a nap. Many errands and stuff to do with family celebrations this weekend. Looking forward to when all this holiday stuff is over, thou I do enjoy seeing family I rarely see. Wife picked up a padded floor mat from BB&B that goes in front of the sink for my feet when doing an hours worth of Sunday night dinner dishes that would probably work. Bar stool or similar height office chair works great with stand up desk. Makes it easy for a quick rest of the feet/break from standing so you can bounce back and forth. |

Just got back from the doctor. Found out that under Obamacare I no longer have a copay for physicals.

OK, so every year I try to get in the Christmas mood, I really do. I put up decorations, drink expensive port, and generally try to be happy and smiley at the made up birthday of Jesus Christ. And I usually succeed for a while..........Then Christmas shopping starts. Yesterday was OK, as it involved some online shopping and a short reconnaissance mission to an electrical store to see what sort of prices blu ray players go for. But today I started the serious "going to real shops and getting throughly pissed off" work. This year I sank to a new low. Toys R Us. I don't know if it is the same in the US but the staff in my local Toys R Us are genuinely the biggest waste of oxygen I have ever been "served" by. I spoke to four staff while looking for presents for my niece and nephew. They knew nothing and cared even less. I am not exaggerating when I say; in the days when I used to run my own shops, if they had been working for me I would have fired three of them on the spot, and given the fourth a serious warning.

Night. So this week saw the launch of a program I've been working on for a year. Worked with a MS SQL wizard to build a export file into xml. Last sunday I stuffed things in after a couple tests and verification items with the client. All checked out. This week has just been monitoring and making changes here and there they hadn't thought of before. Seriously feels so good to be at this point.
So much insane hours of work have paid off. Best part is now as they get more n more into my system they need me. muahahah. ![]() Tonight I finally got a little time to myself. Felt good. Friend is in town as well so it's been nice to hang with her too. Time to crash now. |

A good standing desk can be expensive, unless you have woodworking skills. So I'm trying to get an idea of how it feels to work at one before taking a more permanent step. More info http://www.google.com/search?q=standing+desk+benefits ![]()

For me, just starting with standing, I can do about 20 minutes comfortably before my feet, back and legs start to ache and it's time to hit the chair for some work at the sitting desk. I'm thinking the 20 minute period will get longer. Quote:

Okay, that's my "How's it going with that standing desk thing you were doing?" update for today. ![]()

No. Management software for law firms. Now have some time to begin working on finally cleaning up what is left of my adult projects. Have let so many domains go in the past year.
I had something in the works a year and half ago. However, this project came along and it was money right away that I needed. The adult project wasn't. I still think about trying again though for something. I think in this market he would go for the idea I have. Just an issue of time though. |

Just to clarify, after about 10 minutes of sitting I'm good for at least another 20 minutes of standing work. And yesterday those standing segments were getting longer, but I'm still taking it slow as suggested.
