We did try one of those that run off the electrical lines in the house, but the pool house is on a separate electric meter & no matter where I put the extender, I could not get a decent connection down there It's only costing us $15/month, compared to.......

That bill wasn't just for internet, but the FiOS (fiber optic) we had down there from Verizon was over $50/month. We still have FiOS in the house, because it is fast as all hell AND it works when the power goes out in the area & we're on the backup generator (cable doesn't - and the power goes out here a lot) The other $50 on that bill was the home phone - and I told them I was moving the number unless they lowered it, but no reply. So now we're paying $25/month thru cable for the home phone
