No drought, no water shortage, no global warming... the Republicans say so.

Just look at how wonderful Lake Mead is doing. :-/

Maybe when the dam no longer produces electricity and the Republicans can't use their A/Cs they will stop being idiots.

Nice and warm here today. Made the most of it walking with the dogs for much of the day, because the radio said that tomorrow the weather turns to shit (although they may have used more meteorological sounding terms than "turns to shit").

Puppy News
My friend said "put his basket by the bed and he will sleep in it good as gold". He neglected to mention that the ridgeback would bring "farty the raccoon" to bed with him and sit in the basket causing it to make farting noises while I was trying to sleep.

Or that when the ridgeback thought I was asleep he would sneak up onto the bed and lie with his head on my stomach, the raccoon still in his mouth and still making farting noises.

Even when I had taken the raccoon from him, he was still a pain. Wanted to sleep leaning against me, but he is big and strong, so for "leaning against me" read "slowly pushing me out of bed".

Then the husky joined us. It is a double bed, but two dogs take up a lot of room. By the time I got to sleep I had about eighteen inches of bed left to me!

Woke up in the middle of the night as I felt myself slowly sliding off the bed. The ridgeback had finally succeeded in pushing me out!

The Bitch & I sleep in a king size bed with two chihuahuas: She has about 18" on her side, I have 18" on mine, and the dogs have about 4' in the middle

A couple of years back I was looking after a chihuahua for a different friend (yes - I got two friends, that is why they call me "Mr Popular"). Rather than sleep on the bed above the blankets like any other dog I have known, the chihuahua would burrow down under the blankets and sleep leaning against me. If I threw him out he would sneak in after I had gone to sleep. It scared the hell out of me because I was sure I'd end up killing him, either by him suffocating under the heavy duvet or by me rolling over in my sleep and rolling on top of him, crushing him.

After a few days I realised that I was waking up in exactly the same position as I fell asleep. Somehow I was remaining immobile in my sleep, even unconscious I was terrified of crushing the little fellow!
