Isn't that a mormon thing?
Personally, being married to 1 woman was bad enough can you imagine more than 1 mother inlaw? |badidea| I had to put up a crucifix and garlic to keep the last one away. |

It's a Mormon thing but more Fundamental Mormons than mainstream Mormons.

its an issue because the vast majority of Americans find it scary when they meet people who have different views from them on anything and the only option left is to |acid people with practices outside the norm

It was a Mormon thing, mostly out of necessity, during the early years of the church. Before they settled in Utah women members far outnumbered men. When it was no longer necessary, and they were getting some grief about it from the gov't, they changed policy and told members to obey the law of the land.
There is an offshoot group however that continued the practice. |
