I'm obviously not being unrealistic in expecting a hosting company to set up cronjobs. It looks as though a change of hosting is the only sensible answer.

EDIT: His nameservers are currently atcihosting.com and I'm almost positive he had a different host in that cronjob thread. I'm now almost positive that he's simply switching hosts. Almost.

Truthfully, I heard that he may have been kidnapped by the Taliban and waterboarded until he regretfully gave up his server's root password.
