Yeah, I really think you're right (and unless we have someone here from South Africa you probably know better than most).

Do the words translate to what it says below them in English? When I put the English phrase into a translator I get back "de overtreders zullen worden gegeten" for the Dutch version.

And there's no 'Afrikaner' translator I know about.

That's an almost correct translation. South African Dutch or "Afrikaans" is different to regular Dutch in many ways. The text on the sign looks Afrikaans to me
