MadHatter just suggested as a name Greenguy's Pound Off. Tried to get him to join in, but he's not going for it.

I think I may get in on this.... A few too many reeses cups for me this year, and they're all sitting around my waistline.
The GF and I were going to start dieting (..she calls it eating healthy) next week, but I can start a few days early...that way I get a head start on her.

Well after losing 40 lbs. last year I started eating taters, rice, taters, pasta and more taters so I think I've put about 15-20 lbs. back on. I just might use this to get the weight back off but a pic every day? Why not once a week? Takes a week to lose 2-5 lbs. anyway. Oh, someone might hit their 10% goal somewhere during the week. Hmmm, OK, I'm in. Go ahead and write me a check Greenie

I have a diet which can make you loose 10lbs and more a week and i am not cheatingi used that one last year, but its so fucking boring to do a diet alone and because you loose weight fast you have to train your body...which will mean for me, going on that damn treathmill (or whatever you name that) everyday and doing all kind of things to not make all your skin flapping around.....it will be hell i like hell!

A cautionary tale. Losing weight fast isn't always the best way to go. About 5 years ago I weighed 286 lbs. In 2 years I lost 121 lbs (42%) and weighed in at 165.
This morning I weighed in at 236 lbs and I want to weigh 175 so I have 61 pounds to lose (26%). So this time I'm going to do it different and try to lose 20 lbs a year instead of 60 like I did last time. Hopefully my body will settle into a healthier routine, and then it will be easier to keep the weight off permanently.

i totally agree, the stranges is,last year i lost 44 pounds in a short time, i only gained 4 pounds in the holiday, but after that........i got freaked out, i eat everthingl, the only thing i know is...you have to train your body, i am an depression eater, so if i feel sad, bad or depressed i will eat anything what is around. So i could make this easy, i know what my problem is and why i gain weight but then that problem i have since the age of 15 and now i am 39, i always said dieting is a hobby of me, i will loose weight when its needed and when i go to far...but my thinking is, when my body can have it again i will eat and eat (oke i know wrong thinking but thats how i am) the only thing which i wil start tomorrow is..........low carb stuff, because thats the diet i am talking about, i get enough food inside my body but its all low carb and it realy works, i will beat you all.Stu<--- is at diet warand low carb are realy nice things, like steak, chicken, boiled eggs and tons of other stuff...it happens it are the most food things i like
Do a search on google on the words"mayo diet" you have the steak version and "the egg version", oke i dont think the"egg version " is a good one, but the steak one is

That's my strategy. Any diet that lets you eat all the bacon, sausage, eggs, steak, pork, chicken and most vegetables you want can't be all bad

Ending in the holiday season (X-mas, New Year) is a great idea so we can all get fat again.

The one time I lost weight as an adult, and kept it off a year and a half, I lost 8# the first month (that was the strictest as far as food) and 3 - 4# a month after that. I agree with Sheep Guy, most doctors will tell you to aim for no more than 1 - 2 lbs a week.

I'll be going back on that eating plan. It is really strict, but it is what worked. No flour, no sugar, and lots of veggies, some fruit and protein so pretty much a balanced diet. And given my workouts right now, I might gain before I lose, because I always add muscle faster then I lose fat, lol.

Yea but I did this and had my cholesterol shoot right through the roof, so watch it this isn't the healthiest diet in the world. One of the reasons I'm vegetarian....keeps my cholesterol under control....and I hate the taste of most of it too, lol. I was on the cheese and chicken diet, it got really boring.

I have to agree with you and cheepguy and the docs and i realy mean that...but i am a stubburn person .......i cant help it, but yes, to all others its better to loose weight in a controled way...less weight like 1 or 2 lbs a week....not for me but i am an very unhealthy person and this is the way how i diet since the age of 15 but i have to say when i am going to follow a diet i do exersize for at least 3 hours a day intil i notice that muscles gain weight for me, you can train your body in several ways...building muscles or correct your body lines (which is for the ladies) i go for the correction of my body thing......and i know some age it will hit me and it wont work again anymore, but till now it still works, but again like the others say and the docs, its not a healthy way!

the diet i followed, you have to eat carrots and tomatoes too, those things will lower your cholesterol again. i think the diet licker said wont have those in it to eat...still its a funny diet...you can eat the things you like and loose weight, as long you dont eat bread and patatoes and pasta

Yea my cholesterol is now 175 down from 286 at its top when I was doing Atkins. I'm the only one in my family below 200...my dad's was 400 when he had a heart attack, so runs in the family. Found it was either statin drugs or be a vegetarian...I'll take vegetarian.
