Sounds fucking dodgy to me, I'd pull links and move on. If they are a nats program they can easily see where joins & traffic are coming from.
The only exception would be if they suspected you of sending fraud joins through carding or chatter traffic. Though if that were the case they could find out from their billing processor or via inhouse/nats red flag systems. -N
