I get a lot of traffic from Google image searches, not brilliant traffic, but good enough to make money from it. They use thumbnails of my copyright images, so technically are stealing from me, but I don't mind because I make money from it. And presumably Google make money from their image searches. So maybe you could do something like Google's image search?

Although taking on Google in one of their main business areas gotta be like getting into a boxing ring with Mike Tyson when he was in his prime!

I saw something awhile back on WebmasterWorld about Google testing to take images to make gallerys and display the full size images.

In other words, taking your images, and using them as a gallery without your links. The surfer never leaves Google, or visits your gallery, or clicks your sponsor links.

Thanks for the heads up, however it serves mostly to remind me that there is something I have been meaning to look into for months, and now I MUST get down to it: It is possible to set your site so that when someone tries to access a picture alone they are served a page, and not the image they expected.

I have no idea at the moment how this is done (which is the reason I have not done it yet - I am going to have to look into it) so I am guessing it involves HTACCESS as this is still an unknown form of wizardry to me, and since I currently have no idea how it is done I'm assuming it has to be in an area in which I am not skilled.

The only worry is: can you set this up only for external pulls, so that it allows internal pulls (i.e. I don't want it to bugger up free sites/galleries that have to display pictures alone). Not too much of a problem, as I don't do many galleries/free sites these days (mostly blog style sites, story sites, and TGPs) but it will make a few things more complicated if I cannot link directly to pictures on my own site. However this is not a "deal breaker", I can work round it if this is so.
