Only because you only target the US. North America accounts for less than 50% of the English speaking surfers who spend money. So if you targeted the entire English speaking world instead of just your own neighbourhood you would be making more than twice what you are making. In other words, you are THROWING AWAY half the money you could be making by your own choice! Think - what do you not have, that you wish you had? If it is something can buy, you don't have it because you CHOSE not to have enough money to buy it!

What you are saying is you have chosen to use sponsors who cannot use over 50% of the English speaking traffic that you send them. In other words, you have chosen to waste over 50% of your traffic! If you had spent a wet Sunday afternoon looking for sponsors who are as good at converting the traffic that you send them as your existing sponsors are, but who can also use all the traffic you can throw at them, you too would now live in a home twice as good as the one you do live in, and have twice as much money in the bank as you now have in the bank!

Yeah my comment "shit webmaster" was a bit on the strong side, but it wasn't in my original post it was in a reply to someone else. However that said, the points I made to LB and Tickler apply to you (and you have even less excuse than them, you know that people outside North America use credit cards and spend on the 'net). However much you are making, you would be making more if you targeted your sites better. The point you are missing is that if you did this you would not only reduce that three month dip YOU WOULD ALSO BE MAKING MORE MONEY EVERY WEEK OF THE OTHER NINE MONTHS OF THE YEAR. From what you say, you are throwing away about half what you could earn. You call that using your brain?

General point: I am actually finding this thread very depressing. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but I do expect people to think. What I am reading is a lot of people saying "I don't agree with him and he is saying I do things wrong, so I'm not even going to think about what he said. I'm not going to look into it myself and see if there is a better way, because if he is right, then I am wrong, and I'd rather loose a lot of money than find out I am wrong." I genuinely thought that most people here were than better than that. My use of terms like "shit webmaster" were meant to shake up those that needed shaking, but it just seams to have made some people bury their heads deeper in the sand.

I really don't know why I bother. I'm not trying to be popular, I was fully aware when I typed my first post in this thread that I would be lowering my popularity rating with it. But I had hoped that it would at least provoke people into thinking, and that some people would be making more money because of it. But, well, to slightly misquote someone else "The more I learn about people, the more I like dogs."

Nah what I am saying is *because* I target where I do, I make e.g. those figures, whereas if I change my strategy to see NO dip, I ultimately earn less overall (That's not to say I target only North USA, just that's where I concentrate more).
