The 2257 link

I'm having people put all kinds of crap on there 2257 link.

The 2257 link needs to go to a page with just the 2257 info. No ads, no consoles, no popups.

I'm blacklisting people who put ads, popups, consoles or any other crap on that link.

Been seeing that for a while and just been rejecting for being stupid - but banning thats a little harsh, maybe the second time..

Not really. Today I had one that sent me to popup hell requiring a force quit of IE and another one that downloaded crap to my desktop.

Is it completely pointless to add a comment in a rejection letter?

I try to add a reason to every rejection, just so they know what to change. But the next day, I get the same shit with the same mistake.

Then I changed the subject on outgoing mails so they wouldn't miss it "Site reject WITH comment". Nothing happened.

Maybe I should add comments in French, Russian, and some other usable languages

If you want to link to a sponsor's 2257 that is fine but this page should not have No Ads and No Consoles.

As far as rejection mails I'm not really sending them out anymore since most of the time they just instantly resubmit with the same errors so WTF is the point?

I'm lucky in that (so far) most of my submitters are pretty good. My script automatically sends "decline" emails and it's easy to add reasons. I do find that a surprising percentage of submitters never validate their submissions by clicking the link in the submit email I send out....perhaps most of the real cheaters never get past that stage. Unconfirmed submissions from anyone I don't know just get deleted after a few days.

I'm going to invitation only on my linklist. I had stopped taking submits because I was sick of the crap sites and am finally getting around to setting up my new script. When it's done, I'm going thru my database and contacting my regulars with an invitation to start submitting again.

I can see alot of lists becoming much pickier before much longer.

Slightly OT, but if it's bot going to be OK to link to a separate 2257 page, is it ok to link to your root domain and the free site index page in the footer? (which is something I see quite frequently). It seems to me that free site domains that are internally linked together benefit everyone.

There are less than 5 link lists that have enough traffic that would make most people want to pay for it.

So if every one goes to paid submits they will have to limit the number of people submitting to increase the traffic so people will pay for it.

If they do this the Link Popularity would go down, and the SERPS would change update to update and the site would get less traffic, and then people would not pay to submit to them because the still free link lists would gain popularity because of the mass number of submitters?

LL can never be the same as a paid TGP submission because they are C-J sites to keep traffic?

This is what I got from an IRC chat when I brought up the topic of LL paid submissions. This is correct?
